Welcome to Stoney Point High School

About Us

We are an Options high school in the

Los Angeles Unified School District, which provides a small, alternative learning setting to students who attend Chatsworth Charter High School as well as other students in the West San Fernando Valley.  Our dedicated, highly qualified staff at SPHS serves approximately 160 students in grades 9-12.

SPHS is fully accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  All core curricular classes are aligned to California Common Core Standards (CCCS). Students meet all LAUSD graduation requirements, including minimum California State University (CSU) admission requirements (A-G), to earn a high school diploma at SPHS.

Philosophy

We believe that every student who wants to achieve and learn, will!

Our caring teachers and professional staff understand that students have various learning styles and needs.  Students at SPHS are given the opportunity to work at their own pace through a combination of direct and individualized instruction they complete courses toward earning their high school diploma. Frequent support and guidance is provided to all students as they work to achieve their educational goals and  implement a plan to move on to higher education or other post-secondary course of action. Upon enrollment, an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) is discussed with the principal and/or counselor.  The IGP is then implemented and monitored on a regular basis.

There is an “open door” policy at SPHS, as parents/guardians are always welcome to come in to discuss their student’s academic progress and IGP and to receive updates on what is happening at SPHS.
